The Beatles arrive

With the spotlight no longer in our eyes we looked for someplace to run and returned to our English womb and the naive energy of the working class ‘Fab Four.’ Practically overnight the Beach Boys and Chubby Checker were replaced on our radio by The Beatles. Up until now, music was rock ‘n’ roll and rock ‘n’ roll was American. The Beatles had taken our music and turned it back on us with a new twist. The basic rock beat was there but the harmonies were strange and discordant… much like our emotions at that particular time in history. And it clicked, like a revolver, and another shot was heard ‘round the world.
